Priority Funding Needs

  • checks
    Mason LIFE Fund

The Mason Learning into Future Environments (LIFE) Program is a supportive academic university experience that offers a four year postsecondary curriculum of study to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Its duel mission is to educate students with IDD through academic, employment, residential living, and social life programing, and to be an apprenticeship for other GMU students.

  • checks
The Elizabeth G. Sturtevent, PhD Center for Literacy

The center supports outreach, scholarship, and research-based teaching of reading and literacy. Support for the center will allow the Literacy and Reading Program to continue tutoring service to the community, expanding the number of K-12 students served as well as providing a year-round location for supporting students’ literacy development.

  • checks
    CEHD Scholarship and Fellowship Fund

An education at one of the most inclusive research universities in the country is an opportunity that all students should have, regardless of financial status. Shifts in funding streams means more Mason students are forced to assume increased student loan debt, work multiple jobs, or defer college until later in life.
