Where Creativity and Collaboration Happen
The role that university libraries play in the intellectual life of their communities, both on and off campus, has changed dramatically. We need the ability to change with it. Libraries will always be a place for individual study, but they are also ever-evolving spaces and resources that enable teamwork, stimulate discussion, and propel the exchange of ideas that lead to breakthrough discoveries.
George Mason’s three distinct libraries—Fenwick, Mercer, and Mason Square—each serve as a community hub where information is shared, questions are explored, and big ideas come to life. With your support, we can ensure that these spaces of learning, innovation, and equity foster curiosity and connection for generations to come.
Just as George Mason is changing what it means to be a research university, we can change what it means to be a university library.

Student Scholarships
The Student Assistant Endowed Scholarship provides support for students who work for the University Libraries. Growing the endowment that supports this initiative would allow us to provide increased financial assistance to the exceptional student assistants who do so much to make George Mason University Libraries a welcoming research and study home for our students and faculty.

Supporting Research
George Mason’s Student Research Endowment for the Libraries supplies funding for the Undergraduate Student Research Prize—a financial award for a paper selected through a competitive process, and the Graduate Student Research Fellowship—funding that offsets research costs related to writing a dissertation or thesis.
Libraries must not only embrace AI—it is crucial for us to become leaders in and ambassadors for it.
