GIVE TO THE

HONORS COLLEGE

The Mason Honors College is a vibrant community consisting of highly motivated students, always wondering why and always wanting to find out more. The Honors College challenges students to identify, articulate, and evaluate multiple perspectives on questions of cultural, scientific, or global significance and to consider evidence that broadens their understanding and challenges their beliefs.

An Enhanced College Experience

From the first semester, students will participate in self-directed research, hear different perspectives from peers, and receive personal attention from instructors. As part of a diverse and intellectually rewarding community, students learn in collaborative classes, conduct research, volunteer for community service, and develop leadership skills.

Priority Funding Needs

  • checks
    Dewberry Southside Scholarship Fund

Donations to the Dewberry Southside Scholarship Fund help the Honors College support high school students who come from Southside Virginia to attend George Mason’s Honors college. Your donation helps the Honors College meet Dewberry’s challenge: he will match dollar-for-dollar any contribution up to $250,000, in hopes that matching funds will raise the total to $500,000.

  • checks
    Honors College Deans Fund

Donations to the Honors College Deans Fund are used to support academic and extracurricular enrichment opportunities in the Honors College, including events for students. This fund also supports staff and faculty professional development.

  • checks
    Honors College Scholarships

Donations to the Honors College Scholarship Fund help to close the gap for students with financial need. The Honors College works with the Office of Student Financial Aid to identify Honors students who are most worthy of these need-based scholarships. This is a current-use scholarship fund, i.e. all donations to this fund will be awarded to students in the same fiscal year.
