Thanks to the wisdom, virtue and generosity of our alumni, parents and friends, George Mason University has attained a level of prosperity and happiness that our founders could only imagine. Through our recognition societies, we honor our most steadfast donors.

Mason Society

The Mason Society recognizes the university’s most generous benefactors; alumni and friends in this society have made lifetime commitments exceeding $100,000. These leadership gifts are essential in supporting Mason’s growth and development, helping students and faculty take advantage of new opportunities.

President’s Circle

Our original giving society, the President’s Circle recognizes donors who have generously contributed $2,500 or more during the fiscal year (July 1-June 30). The President’s Circle now includes more than 1500 members, whose impact on the institution is lasting and deep.

Legacy Society

The Legacy Society honors alumni and friends who have invested in the university’s future through documented deferred or planned gifts, of any amount, in support of George Mason University. These gifts include bequests, trusts, annuities, and other plans in which the George Mason University Foundation has been named beneficiary.
